After 11 years and 4 months the John Street Jam is closing its doors on April 11, 2015. We want to thank everyone who has performed here, everyone who has helped set up, bake, make coffee, clean up, and mop the floors, co-host, run the sound board, and everyone who has sat in the circle around the musicians and contributed to the magic. You have made the Jam the best listening room this side of Jupiter and your attention and appreciation has attracted some of the finest talent in the US, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, France, and Great Britain.
We hope to see you all out listening to and supporting live music wherever it is made.

Steve & Terri

The John Street Jam is the most talked-about music venue in the Hudson Valley. On the 2nd Saturday of every month we present 8 of the area’s best musicians in an intimate, living-room setting. We do two 'rounds' of four players each with an intermission. The room is cozy, the people friendly, and the performances are always top-notch. Musical styles range from folk to blues, from rock to ragtime. And it's all only $5!

The "stage" is a big, comfortable rug in the middle of the room with four chairs arranged in a circle. The audience is seated around the outside and is never more than a few feet from the musicians. This format provides the intimacy of a living room and allows the musicians to interact in ways that aren't possible in the traditional coffeehouse format.

Admission, available at the door only, is $5. Doors open at 6:45, music starts at 7:30 and each round runs about an hour. Lots of home-baked goodies and plenty of coffee, tea and bottled water are available.

The John Street Jam is located in the Dutch Arms Chapel at 16 John Street, Saugerties, near the Main Street Stewart's. This is not an open mic.
